For those of you lucky enough to be at CES 2012, Velodyne is giving away a set of vPulse earphones every hour of the day (during show hours). The Wednesday winners will be announced in this blog post, as well as on our Twitter feed. So, here are your winners so far:

Audioholics EQ-Max 10 Contest Results

Congratulations to Wes and Christina from CA for winning the grand prize in the Audioholics forum contest!

A long-time Velodyne owner, Wes purchased a Velodyne SPL 1200 II for his very first home theater system. He is a gaming enthusiast and loves home theater, as well as being a total audiophile. Wes is still deciding where in his several home audio systems to feature the EQ-Max 10, but he’s thinking it might be the perfect fit for a 2-channel system. His favorite movie for showing off the might of a good subwoofer is the Dark Knight, so maybe the EQ-Max 10 will provide depth to the Joker’s misdeeds some time in the future!

Show Off and Win! Contest Results

Congratulations to Bob from North Carolina for winning our Show Off and Win! contest! He will be rocking a new pair of vPulse in-ear headphones. Here’s what Bob had to say about his Velodyne Digital Drive PLUS 18 subwoofer:

 

Bob's system includes a Velodyne DD18+.

“I own a DD 18+ subwoofer.   I have owned it for about two months.   I previously owned an FSR 18 for the last 13 years and previously a ULD 15.

The bass from the DD 18+ is incredible, particularly with movies.   The room calibration Auto EQ with my laptop worked superbly and merged very well with the main’s.   The only drawback is that it weighs about 150 lbs and is difficult to move and foam had to be put behind pictures and some doors to prevent room rattles created by the subwoofer.

This is clearly the only Velodyne subwoofer that I would own.”

 

 

We also loved what Hugo from Colorado, our first runner-up, had to say about his system:

“I’ve owned my Velodyne VA12BVX10 for about 10 years now. It was given to me by my brother and I was absolutely amazed by the sound clarity and quality of it. I love the low end bass it produces as well as the ground shaking power. I have tried other subwoofers in the past but I always had my trusty Velodyne by my side. I’ve never had an issue with it even after a decade of use.

I use it mostly for music but I also use it for movie night. Everyone loves coming over to watch because they love the feeling of being in the action.

If I were able to pick any Velodyne subwoofer I think it would have to be the Velodyne DS-10. It has an amazing amount of power, really nice design, and it can get to lower frequencies than the current subwoofer I have now.

To sum up everything your products are truly outstanding and I would recommend them to everyone.”

Do you belong to the elite group of audiophiles that own a Velodyne subwoofer? Do you like to brag about your killer home sound system? Are you excited about the new vPulse in-ear headphones from Velodyne? If so, you’re in luck!

You could win a pair of vPulse earphones!

For the month of December, we’re accepting entries for the “Show Off and Win!” contest. The first ten entrants will win a Velodyne laptop bag, and the best entry (as chosen by us) will also win a pair of the new vPulse in-ear headphones! To enter, take a picture of your home sound system (which must clearly feature a Velodyne product) and submit it to contests@velodyne.com with the subject line “Show Off and Win!”, along with your answers to the following questions:

  1. Which Velodyne model do you own, and how long have you had it?
  2. What do you like most about your Velodyne product? Any drawbacks?
  3. Do you usually listen to music, watch movies, or play games with your system? What is your favorite kind of media to listen to with your Velodyne product?
